Figtree Australian Football Club is a vibrant, family orientated organisation playing in the Illawarra region on the South Coast of New South Wales. The club has both juniors and seniors under a single club banner and prides itself on its motto of Family, Fun, Footy.

Exciting news in the Youth Girls department! There will be a Youth Girls exhibition game held at NDP between 11-12 during the Illawarra Junior Grand Finals day on the 11th of September! Any girls from age 10+ are encouraged to come and give AFL a try! The finer details are still being sorted out but at the moment we are aiming for a game of 9's and a possible mother/daughter game! This will be an awesome way to get the Youth Girls exposure in the Illawarra! Let us know if you're interested so we can start organising the day. Nicci & Casey  Roberto was introduced to Figtree AFC this year by our loyal Senior Coach, Ash Cairnduff.
Roberto has been an enormous help to the senior teams both at training and on game day. He has taken on the role of 'water boy' at training and during the senior games; something that everyone of the senior players has truly appreciated. At the start of the year, Roberto was a little bit hesitant about where he was allowed to be on the field, but as we post this message, Roberto is probably the first 'newby' NOT to give away a penalty during his first year! Roberto’s downside is that he is an avid Cats supporter, though Tumbo reckons that’s quite alright.  Big congratulations to one of our Auskickers. Finn Ardita, who won the Sherrin Footy in our raffle for MS. Thanks to all who bought a ticket to raise money for a worthy cause. |
